    Indicator within indicator

Maybe a stupid question but I want to have an indicator (let's say EMA9) WITHIN another indicator (ROC) (in otherw ords: a combined indicator)

Does anyone knows how to do this?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the question.

You can accomplish by selecting the input series for the first added indicator. Here is the process:
    1. From the chart start by opening the indicators panel and adding the Initial indicator so the EMA 9.
    2. With the indicator panel still open, look in the EMA 9's properties in the right and you will see Input Series.
    3. Click Input series and you should see a button appear on the right that looks like 3 dots ( ...)
    4. Click that button and it will open the input selection.
    5. Select Indicators and select the ROC and give it a period.
    6. Click OK until you return to the chart and you should have a EMA that is using the ROC with the period of the ROC added.

Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance.

Thanks a lot, Jesse. Great help.

But the problem now is that, although the indicator is "combined", I only see the ROC and not the EMA...

      What am I doing wrong?

        Hello,

I'm sorry I thought you wanted the EMA based off of the ROC's data, if you want them both plotted you would instead just add both indicators to the chart.

In each indicators settings you will need to specify the same panel so if you add the EMA and it is panel 2 you would need to add the ROC and specify its panel as 2 as well.

If the data looks strange or stretched, you would need to edit the Second added indicators properties and change its Scale Justification to "Overlay" and then it should be a normal looking line for each indicator in the same panel.

Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance .

                Hello,

Our normal support hours are M-F 8am - 6pm Eastern, We do have labor day on monday so it will be T-F this coming week.

If anything in the mean time I would recommend watching our Charting Level 1 video, It does not outline the exact process of what you are trying to do but it does explain panels and how to form the chart how you like.

                Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kojv...DD7105&index=5

I look forward to being of further assistance.
