    6.5 Bug GridLines DashStyle Custom

    Version 6.5.1000.1

    Select:
    Chart Properties.../Horizontal grid lines/Dash style/Custom

and if it doesn't crash there, try scrolling the dialog. This consistently crashes NT pretty hard on my machine.

BTW, how is custom gridline supposed to work? Can we achive a single pixel dot followed by say 3 or 4 blank pixels in a repeating pattern?
    for example: . . . . . . .

    thanks,
    shawn

    Thank you for reporting this.

In order to trouble shoot the issue you are having we are requesting some more information from you to be sent to support AT ninjatrader DOT com.

    Can you please tell us:

    - Who is your datafeed provider and were you connected when the message popped up?
    - Was NinjaTrader working before or did this occur after an upgrade?
    - Have you made any changes to your computer since the last time you used NinjaTrader?
    - Do you have any 3rd party indicators installed?
    - What are your computer specifications?
    - What version of the Microsoft .Net Framework do you have installed? You can check this on the Windows control panel under Add/Remove programs
    - Do you also have SP1 for the .Net Framework installed?

We thank you for your assistance and will get back to you as soon as we can once we have received your email.

If you are not able to duplucate it doing what I described (I assume you tried) then never mind. This is a very minor anoyance. I was curious as to what custom gridlines were (You didnt answer that question) and my curiosity caused the crash - repeatedly.

But to roughly answer your questions:

      >Who is your datafeed provider and were you connected when the message popped up?

IB - connected and not connected.

      >Was NinjaTrader working before or did this occur after an upgrade?

This occured after I installed 6.5 as a seperate install (not an upgrade). It happened on 6.5. I havent tried it on 6.0.

      >Have you made any changes to your computer since the last time you used NinjaTrader?

      No.

      >Do you have any 3rd party indicators installed?

      No.

      >What are your computer specifications?

      3ghz hyperthreaded intel 1 gig

      >What version of the Microsoft .Net Framework do you have installed? You can check this >on the Windows control panel under Add/Remove programs

      2.0

      >Do you also have SP1 for the .Net Framework installed?

      Yes.

          Gridlines

          I have NT 6.5.1000.3
          WinXP64 Pro SP2

Gridlines refuse to change style, always solid.

Color change is OK, but width and style don't change.

Just now I selected "Custom" for the first time, and "NinjaTrader has to shutdown" came up.

Please try with an empty chart (no indicators). On my end I am able to change the style. If you are still unable to change them try uninstalling NT, uninstall .NET, clear browser cache, reinstall .NET, reinstall NT.

                Correction...

The styles ( dash, dot, etc ) do work, but the effect is not "visible" with a line width of 1 on my monitor. Sorry!

I will look for the traces now...

Ok, Will send all traces and logs, since there is only a few days there...

                ---

Trying to send traces and logs locked up Ninja. Killed the process after about 10 minutes.
