Bug - Bar spacing on multiseries chart #2

    Dear NT support,

I have another video of misbehavior of bar spacing on a multiseries chart.

    The reproduction goes like:
    1) Open a multiseries chart
    2) Make it full screen (without this it won't work)
    3) Optional - add some indicators, that internally use bar width to plot some values
    4) Click Start Menu -> Switch user
    5) Log in again
    6) Look at the chart and notice the bars are a little bit narrower every time you do this. Also the indicators (I just used this one, but it can be any indicator - it's not mine, but I don't have the source), that use bar width get lost, because somehow the internal value is different than the actually displayed width.

The logout/login can't be seen in the video, the image just gets stuck.

    Thank you,
    Lukas

P.S. The same can be shown using EMA indicator plotted as HLine.

    Hello Lukas,

Thank you for reporting. I will forward your report to development. I suggest to shut down NinjaTrader whenever you switch Windows user accounts to avoid the issue from occurring.

      Thank you,
this occurs for me when I leave the computer and it locks down / turns off the screen, etc. Then I wake it up and the chart is screwd. I used logout to demonstrate this.

Also please take this into consideration:
I would like to be able to have common settings for all series in a multiseries chart for intermarket analysis. To put several markets in a chart and configure the timeframe, session, etc. just once for all. That could keep the equidistant bar spacing and many other things a lot simpler. I think many NT users could benefit from this.

      Thanks again,
      Lukas

        Hello Lukas,

I will forward the suggestion to support common settings in multi series charts to put it on the list of possible future enhancements. Thank you for your feedback.

          Hello Lukas,

You can save the settings of the Data Series menu per period type. Once you setup the Data Series menu as you like, please right click in the grid and select 'Set Default For XXXX Period Type'. If you now add another data series and select the same period type, it will use the same settings. Does this address your request for common settings? If not, can you please clarify how you like to see this implemented.

            Hello Jason,
what would ninjatrader developer need to keep the equidistant bar spacing for the whole chart? He would have to know, that all series have the same configuration in the "Period" section - i.e. same period type and value. And as we go on, all of the other settings for a dataseries could be common as well ... except for Panel and Label.

I often find myself in a situation, when I do dataseries configuration four times (with a four series chart):
            - load more days on the chart? .. do it four times
            - change session? ... do it four times
            - change period? ... do it four times
            - change visual style? (ok, this can be done using the defaults as you proposed)

I can't think myself of a situation, when I would want to load 4 days of one dataseries and 10 days of another ... or have different session configurations for different dataseries...

You're the developers, but if I may suggest, the gui could look like this (attached). The so called "common settings" (or name it as you like) would be those configured for the primary dataseries on the chart.
            Thank you,
            Lukas
