Importing the EUR/USD data as a text file

    Hi there,

I have read the help guide on importing data.

I have downloaded a EUR/USD csv data file and formatted it in excel using delimiter, and then put it in the "yyyyMMdd HHmmss;price;volume" format in word.

Upon attempting to import it into NT, I get the warning on the log " Instrument is not supported by repository" > but everyone knows the EUR/USD is in the instrument list.

    1. All forex pairs data files come with two columns (Ask, Bid), therefore I can't save it as 'Last' does this mean I have to format the original csv file so it has only 'Ask' and 'Bid' columns respectively? Then save two "ask" and "bid" files?
    2. What would you recommend I do?

Importing data in NT is a pain

    Thank you for your time,

    TMNT.

Can you show me an small example of this data so that I can test?

        Hi Zach,

I attached one week's of prices in text format.

The first column is Ask, and the Second is Bid .

I added it as a zip file, b/c the text file was 7.7MB

        Thank you!

              Hello,

This data does not appear to be in a format which NinjaTrader can use.

The data which you are attempting to import appears as follows:

              2014-1-5;5:00:14;1.35933;1.3595

NinjaTrader will accept only the following formats:

              Tick:
              • yyyyMMdd HHmmss;price;volume

              Minute:
              • yyyyMMdd HHmmss;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume

              Day:
              • yyyyMMdd;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume

What if I dont have volume? and just wanted price/s?

The two prices are Bid and Ask......so I would have to enter it in individually?

so have two files one would be $EURUSD.Ask and the other would be $EURUSD.Bid?

                  Hello,

All data points must include values to import data in to NinjaTrader.
