    overtrading prevent tool

    Hello,
I'm looking for a tool that can prevent from overtrading, after certain criteria are met:
    # of traces, max loss met, time of day, etc
What i would like the tool to do is lock down the program, or turn over to sim account, for a specified amount of time.
    Anyone knows if this exists?
Or if i were to build it, what would it be? a strategy ?
    thanks for any input.

    Hello,

    Thank you for writing in.

While I am not aware of a tool in existance that does this, it may be possible to create this tool using unsupported methods.

As the script would be preventing you from making manual trades, you would need to have the script create buttons that trigger orders and use the logic of the script to either allow or not allow the order to be made.

You would have to trade through that script running on a chart and not from any of the NinjaTrader order submission buttons.

Below is a link to an example script that uses buttons.

If you would like this script created for you, I would suggest contacting a professional NinjaScript consultant who can assist with this unsupported code.

Below is a publicly available link to a list of NinjaScript consultants.

        Hi frover,

Are you logged in when you try and download?

Have you tried using a different web browser? (If you are using firefox or chrome try internet explorer (or vice versa))

          frover:

I had the same problem (I use internet explorer). How to solve it: click on the zip file and choose Save as. Choose Save as type: All files (I hope that it is so, I don´t have Windows in English . And add: .zip to the name of the file (which is attachment). Than go to a folder where you saved it and you can open it as a normal zip file. I haven´t find any better solution. So if somebody (NT support) knows some better way please let us know...

            Hello emuns,

Instead of right-clicking and selecting save as, just left-click the link.

(If you right-click and select save as, you are likely saving the .php page where you are asked to confirm the forum rules)

                Hello emuns,

This is an issue with your browser, and I can ensure that links are downloading normally on my end.

Have you tried a different browser? (ensuring that you are logged in to the forums when you try and download)

I can assist you with this over a remote support call. Please send an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com. In the email add a link to this forum thread.
