    Renko price-cut question

    Hi,

I'm looking at a 20-pip Renko chart on the GBP/USD pair. And I see bricks are being made by the 0.0005 pips, meaning for example 1.5965 1.5945 1.5925 etc. Is there a way to cut price by the 0.0000 -> 0.0020 -> 0.0040 numbers only? So only by a round of 20 pips?

Also I would like to know what it means if there are gaps in my Renko charts?

    Hello Siroki,

    Thank you for your post.

My 20 Renko chart is being made every 0.0002. Are you using the NinjaTrader "Renko" bar type?
Under Tools > Options > Data > what is the 'Quote currencies (FX) in' set to?

Can you attach a screenshot of the chart to your response?

I look forward to your response.

      Hello Patrick,

      Thanks for your reply.

Here is a screenshot of a EURUSD chart based on 20 tick Renko. I have set my data FX to Pips.

As you can see, the bricks are not drawn nicely every 20 pip increments. Also something I have gaps and overlaps.

        Hello siroki,

        Thank you for your response.

Please refer to the attached screenshot. As you can see my chart is plotting the bars correctly. Can you use the Ruler Drawing Tool and measure the Low to High of the bar and advise what the Y value is?

For the gaps, please right click in your chart > select Data Series and advise what Session Template is being used. In addition, please advise who you connect to in NinjaTrader for your Forex data.

Yes, my bricks are indeed 20 pips, but I would like the bars to be drawn on every x.xx00 x.xx20 x.xx40 x.xx60 and x.xx80 price .. So not x.xx67 x.xx87 ..

Is this possible? I think it has to do with the opening price of the session. So if the price opens at x.xxx7 then every 20pip brick will be x.xx27 x.xx47 etc .. But I'd like to have it based on 20 pip round numbers.

My template is Forex based on 5PM - 5PM EST times

            Hello siroki,

            Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, this would not be possible as the opening price of the session effects the bars. This would be possible through a custom bar type but this is unsupported.
