fxcm volume

Hello,

I have a live account with fxcm now and I want to ask here about the volume because the fxcm support can not answer me.

The volume shown in NinjaTrader is coming from fxcm? In your forex-friday webinars there was mentioned that the volume is aggregated from 12 banks. Is this the volume shown in NinjaTrader? The support from fxcm can not answer me this questions and told me to ask NinjaTrader. When connected with fxcm live datafeed what volume is shown in NinjaTrader please?

And when setting up the account connection then when all is finished there appears the disclaimer with "9.) Volume shown from real-time data may yield higher than expected values due to the decentralized nature of the price data feed"
Sorry, but I dont understand what this means accurately.

Thank you for your post.

The volume shown in NinjaTrader when connected to FXCM is from FXCM. Volume for Forex would be aggregated from the multiple sources used for the Forex data feed chosen. Real-Time volume is a hybrid historical/real-time bar from FXCM. Once the bar finishes building it will be a proper historical bar.

There is no central exchange for Forex data, so the volume may appear larger than in other platforms.

thank you for your reply. I know there is no central exchange for forex. Sorry, for asking again maybe the problem is my understanding when translating.

Why should the volume shown in NinjaTrader be different from the volume in fxcm-trading-station?
(or maybe if I would use meta-trader)

Or do you mean with "...than in other platforms" maybe "...than other forex data" (like MB, Dukascopy, ....)

So, there seems to be a volume beside updowntick with fxcm? When I set dataseries eg to 150 Tick then there appear more volume in panel2. My understanding untill now was that with forex there is no volume and with a tickchart the "volume" shows always the value of the tickchart?

The volume can be provided from the data feed provider as a combination from all forex markets used as with FXCM.
