import/export historical data

I have the day session data for 16 Apr for 6E 06-08 on my desktop computer and the after-mkt session for the same on my laptop

I want to import the night session data to my desktop

So I exported tick data...and imported successfully...so NT said

I then went to Market Replay to access the data for 16 Apr. I did not know if NT would overwrite my day session data or add the new data. It did nothing. All MR shows is the day session data.

So I looked in db/import folder and there is nothing there.

Looked in db/data/20080416 and only day session data.

How do I access the imported data from MR...or from anywhere?

Unfortunately NT does not supported import/export of replay data but only historical chart data which is different data set.

not sure I understand .... I exported historical data from my laptop...i.e. the chart was running for the day and I exported the prior day's date...

should that not work?

Exporting data is chart data not market replay data. It will not work.

Import/export will work but the data is for charts not for replay.

ok...thanks...that explains why I could not access it from MR

however, it does not explain why the import did not work...

the export file looked fine..ie. correct format...the instrument is the same on both computers....why did it not import and overwrite my day session data for the same day?

NT confirmed the import however there is no date/file to be found...

- try empty DB
- retry import
- don't connect but open chart on imported data

You will see that data is there.

Unfortunately I would not know. Try exporting data after importing to see what data was imported.

no can do....NT said import was successful however I can not find any imported file

Not sure why you are insisting on files. Please proceed as suggested by my post to see if data is imported. Chart data is NOT stored in any file.
