Unable to backtest

Hi,

I followed the instructions in this instructional video, however when I went to click back test no data appeared. I'm using the free kinetick data feed for now. How can I get back tested data to work?

Thank you for your post.

So I may investigate this matter further please answer the following questions.

• What instrument(s) have you selected? If a futures instrument, what expiry is selected? (Example: ES 06-13)
  
• What interval is selected for the backtest? (Example: Tick, Minute, Day, etc.)
  
• Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

Hi Patrick,

I believe I was able to figure out the solution based on your questions. I was trying to back test "ES 09/12" & AAPL - both of which appear in the default lists. (Not sure why 2013 or 2014 don't appear as defaults for ES contract back testing).

For the Data Series area I had followed the instructions from the NinjaTrader youtube video and had it set for minutes instead of days - and this was the problem because the free kinetick data feed only provides end of day data.

I'm impressed at how quickly NinjaTrader staff answer questions & want to say thanks.
