Delete Multiple Instrument from Instrument Managers

In order to start with a fresh database, I created a new workspace that doesn't get rid of the targeted 400+ instruments. So I deleted the targeted instrument list in the new workspace. Then, I tried Tools > Options > Data > Reset Instruments and restarted NT7 afterward. This execution doesn't clean up any of the *.HK instruments.

What'd be the appropriate way to do it then?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the question.

Can you please try the following as a test?

    Exit NinjaTrader
    Open the folder Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db
In this folder you will see NinjaTrader.sdf
    Rename this file to NinjaTraderOld.sdf
Now start the platform and check the instrument manager.

If this resolves the *.hk instruments you can leave the change, if it does not you can revert to the prior database.

If you keep the changes you will need to re create any custom instruments and ATM strategies.

Please let me know on the results of doing this if you do not see the *.hk any longer.

I look forward to being of further assistance.

      Hi Jesse,

Your suggestion works as expected as I just imported the *.HK stock list again.

One last question, as I want to keep the system clean, is OK to delete the NinjaTraderOld.sdf file after 3 days without any issue at all?

      Cheers

        Hello,

You can remove the Old file with no issues, NinjaTrader is no long using this file. The reason I recommend renaming it, is that if you open the platform and need the information that was store in the Old database you can reverse the process to retrieve it. Otherwise if you don't need anything out of the old database this can be removed.

Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance.
