I have a Tick chart up.
I right click on the right hand axis where the price scale is displayed.
I select Properties.
I select Margin Type as Percent for the Right Scale.
I set the Lower Margin = 80
I set the Upper Margin = 10
Given the Margin Type = Percent, I was expecting both margins adding up to 90 leaving 10% space for the price in the middle. This is just an example and this Scaling option obviously doesn't work as I expected.
My real intention is to shift prices into the upper half of the Chart Panel and display Overlay Scaled indicators in the bottom half of the same Price Panel. I can enter some large numbers and get what I want but this still doesn't solve my misunderstanding of how this configuration is intended to work.
Can someone explain how this works please?
UPDATE
I saw some other post suggesting that percent was another word for pixels. Well the height of my Chart Panel is 978 pixels. Setting the lower margin to 489 pixels should in my mind shift the price up scaled in the top half of the screen. Well, as one other poster said. Prices get squashed high up at the top beyond the 50% line.
'Range' set to automatic
'Based on' set to ScreenDateRange
Still no idea if this Percent Scale works as intended.
UPDATE 2 - SOLVED
=================
For those who want to know.
Percent means percentage of the price range displayed on the screen given my settings detailed above.
i.e. Lower Margin = 100, Upper margin = 0
will result in the price being in the top half of the screen exactly as intended.
