Login failed (Interactive Brokers)

So i followed all the steps to link NT with IB but I get this message when I try to connect:

Login failed: Can't find Java executable at C:/WINDOW/system32/..SysWOW64/javaw.exe. Unable to start TWS

Can someone help please?

Hello Perrysingh,

1. Locate javaw.exe located in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_25\bin(Note your version may be different from jre1.8.0_25)
2. You are going to COPY the javaw.exe file to the 'clipboard' (right-click Javaw.exe and select copy)
3. Now paste it into the following two directories:
C:\Windows\System32
C:\Windows\SysWOW64
4. Once this is complete, the TWS shortcut on the users desktop will work with no errors.

Let me know if this was successful.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have pasted the file in those 2 folders. Now I get a pop up dialog box that says:

Login failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
fe80 (bunch of numbers and letters)

Have you setup the IB TWS side first from the Help Guide?

Please log into TWS standalone and follow the directions outlined from the Connection guide -

I did have TWS setup but I uninstalled it and used the 944 version in the document and now in the bottom lefthand corner of NT it says: Connected - Interactivebrokers

So I assume it is successful I can honestly say NT's support team is second to none.

I do not have anything in my IB account as it is a brand new account. Can you tell me where I can go from here? Exactly how does NT work with IB, are there any videos I can follow on how to place orders etc etc. ? Will the Product Training Schedule for 1/26/2015 - 2/6/2015 be recorded for those who cant attend?

I'm from Canada so can I use Kinetic as my data feed? I'm just not sure how the Kinetic data feed will work with IB for my order placements. I hope I am making some sense.
