Ninja 7 Folder In Documents Folder

When I installed NT7, the installer created a NinjaTrader 7 folder in the Documents Folder. I assume that this is where the system stores data etc. (as opposed to storing them in the Program Files folder).

Am I correct here?

Also, if I want to use third party templates, indicators, and strategies is this where I should put them? If so, where should each type of file (template, indicator, strategy) be placed?

Hello Jeff,

Yes, your data, configuration, templates, workspaces, database, indicators, and strategies are kept in Documents\NinjaTrader 7.

Chart Templates go in:
Documents\NinjaTrader 7\templates\Chart

Follow these steps to import a NinjaScript indicator or strategy:

1. Download the script to your desktop, keep it in the compressed .zip file.
2. From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Import NinjaScript
3. Select the downloaded .zip file
4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical *Note that on any files that say "File already exists on your PC" that start with an "@" symbol are the ones that came preloaded inside of NinjaTrader so you would say "No" so that you do not override those files.

I also have the history in "C:\Documents and Settings\English\My Documents\NinjaTrader 7" but there is not much space. I want to move this to another location - like "G:\NinjaTrader 7" - I found the registrey entries - and moved all of the subfolder db to the new location - and changed all registry keys pointing to the original location. It didn't work. How I can move these data?
Pls - help me.

Kognam's first choice is the preferred.

Change the location of My Documents as this is where NinjaTrader will reference that folder.

(This means change the location setting, don't just move the folder.)

THX - I used Junction.exe from Sysinternals - worked fine !!!
