SMA not showing the right price?

Hello All,

Im using Market Replay Connection tot test my strategy. My friend is using real data feed. We both use 3min time frame and we both use a SMA200, but his SMA is showing a different price than mine in the same day/hour/bar.....why is that? What am I doing wrong?

Hello mkbcn,

Indicators are calculated on historical data. If data is different, indicators will be different as well.

Do you both have the same historical data loaded in the charts? Do you see any differences in the price bars?

Please make sure the charts use the same 'Days to load' setting and check if data is the same and if the SMA is the same as well.

If your friend connects to the Market Replay connection, do you still see the difference?

There is a considerable difference between the two SMAs.

This can only be explained by different input data. Different input data can be explained by

-> an insufficient lookback period (make sure that you have both loaded more than 200 bars on your chart

-> a false session template that eliminates part of the data

-> data gaps (please reload your chart)

If you wish a qualified comment on the difference you need to attach an entire chart to your question. It is necessary that the last 200 bars are shown on that chart. The same would apply to the chart of your friend.

If you just take a screenshot of a few bars no qualified comment is possible. You can tale screenshots of your chart with NinjaTrader. Right click the chart -> Image -> Save as ... and attach the entire chart with at least 200 visible bars.

Your data does not match. Even a cursory examination of the terminal candles shown in your two diagrams show that the candles are not the same. (Not even close).
