    Reinstallation and machine ID

    My ninja crashes a lot for no apparent reason therefore I am considering to reinstall it from scratch.

    (1) I have 3rd party license tied with machine ID, would machine ID change with reinstall from scratch without any change in machine hardware.

    (2) What is the proper procedure to install new build such as 27 on top of 26. My wooes started when I upgraded from 26 to 27

    (3) What is the proper procedure to follow to install from scratch.

    Thanks for your post.

    1) The machine ID would not change as a result of Ninjatrader (re)installation.

    2) To update Ninjatrader:
    • Copy the current license key under Help>License Key
    • Shut down NinjaTrader
    • In a browser window go to the download site and paste in your license key, follow the prompts to download the current version
    • After installer downloads, run setup installer


    3) To remove and start clean
    • Copy the current license key under Help>License Key
    • Shut down Ninjatrader
    • Using the Windows control panel, uninstall NinjaTrader
    • Verify no Ninjatrader folders remain in C:\Program files (or program files (x86))
    • Delete the folder Documents>Ninjatrader7
    • In a browser window go to the download site and paste in your license key, follow the prompts to download the current version
    • After installer downloads, run setup installer

      I am wondering now what hardware upgrade would change machine id, such as processor, video card hard drive or memory?

        The question is outside our area of support however with a google search I was able to find a link of interest that may assist in understanding.
