    Charts displaying incorrect bars

I just realized that my charts on NT 7 have been displaying incorrectly in 60 minute timeframe. I have no clue what is causing the problem. Can someone take a look at my chart and my Session Manager settings? Thanks

Hello and thank you for your post,

Based on your screen shot, the chart should be displaying the time frame Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

I don't think the screen shot of your chart uploaded correctly, could you upload a picture in addition to letting me know what you're experiencing?

I look forward to assisting further.

        Hello ATL_Guy67,

Thank you for adding that picture. The gaps in the chart you're seeing are caused by the time frames that are not included in the US Equities RTH session template.

If you activate the Data Box in the chart (or the mini-data box by holding down your middle mouse scroll wheel) and scroll you mouse over where the gaps appear, you will notice the data ends at 14:00 hours and starts again at 9:30.

To retrieve 24/7 data on a chart, please follow the directions below.

Right click in your chart and select Data Series.

In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.

Let me know if I may assist further.

Didn't resolve the problem. In fact, the chart looks even more screwed up now. I am simply trying to ploy the ticker SPY during normal trading hours (9:30 - 4:00).

            Hello ATL_Guy67,
Thank you for your reply. The original chart does reflect those hours, the gaps being caused by the absent hours.

What if I don't want to show any bars after market close (4:00)? Should I change the setting to RTH? That was my logic for using RTH. I understand that their will be a gap from yesterday's close to today's open.

Yes, that is correct; with the US Equities RTH session template selected, the last bar of the day will end at 4:00, the next bar starting at the open.

Please see the below education video from our YouTube channel that explains the session templates further.

For SPY you cannot use ATLATNIC TIME. The session template always needs to be in exchange time which would be EASTERN TIME.

Thanks a bunch Harry! I played around with it a couple of days ago and changed the setting to Eastern and it resolved the problem. I didn't know why, so your explanation was helpful.

                      Candlesticks covered by another indicator.

I have an indicator that puts supply/resistance bands on the chart.
Sometimes it kinds of distorts the candlestick if they are in the same area.
I remember reading on one of the indicator sites that NT has a mouse/key combination that lets you bring the candlesticks to the forefront in cases like this.
Is there such a thing? I could not find it in the help files or using Google.

                      Thanks.
