I have published a more general version of the ADX now. It is available in our indicator library at www[dot]lizardindicators[dot]com. The library currently contains 130 indicators for NinjaTrader 8. All library indicators are available as a free download for members.

The ADX available in the library comes with two different parameters for the DM period and the ADX period. When you set the DM period to 13 and the ADX period to 8, it becomes the Schaap ADX. But you may also try other settings or optimize the parameters in a backtest. Moreover, the ADX available in the library may also be applied to other input series as price. For example you may apply it to moving averages or momentum oscillator. This is not the case with the ADX that ships with NinjaTrader.
