Lost price connection

Hi,

I have a short specific question:

1) I am running a NT-script on 60min bars.

2) The Price connection was then lost (but not the Primary Connection since the break was only 2-3sec).

3) After that the Price connection was once again established

In this state between the 60min bars: Is the function onBarUpdate then called?

Thank you for the question.

This depends on a few variables.

Was the connection that was lost providing data for the instrument on the 60 minute chart?

If so, if the tick that would have pushed the 60 minute charts OnBarUpdate was missed while disconnected, it would not be called.

After re connecting the data will be requested and when ticks come in the chart would be updated at that time.

If the connection that was supplying this chart was the connection that remained connected, I would expect the chart to work as normal.

Thank you for a fast response!

I am running an automated live strategy with a CQG data feed and after around 30min in the middle of a 60min bar the Price connection was lost.

When the Price connection was restored again after a couple of seconds it seems like “OnBarUpdate” was called even if there actually was only 30min since last time. Is that expected?

Hello,

Yes upon reconnecting the NinjaScript items should be recalculated just like when you initially connect and all of the charts are refreshed.

This would be expected if the connection is restored as well.
