Weird fills in live paper trading

I am currently testing a strategy using live feeds and am experiencing order fills that lie outside of the candles. Please find enclosed two screenshots that illustrate the problem. The arrow is pointing to the execution price.

This is one of the quirks involved in trading forex. Without a centralized exchange, there is no "last price," as there is with futures and equities. Instead, all Buy orders are filled at the Ask, and all Sell orders are filled at the bid.

What makes this tricky is that candles on forex charts are generally drawn based on the bid price. Thus, when a Buy order is filled at the Ask, with the candle painting the Bid, it can appear as though the fill was outside of the actual candle.

There is a really cool trick in NinjaTrader that you can use to plot both the Bid and Ask on the chart. You can add an invisible secondary data series to the chart, of the same instrument and interval, and set it to plot the Ask price. That way, you can see a price marker of the Ask price in the Y-axis of the chart, while seeing the candles formed based on the Bid.

I've attached a screenshot that shows how to set up an invisible data series.
