    Hello joemiller,

You can download historical data at Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Download-tab. It wil also download histoircal data automatically when you create a chart. You can use the free Kinetick EOD connection to load EURUSD daily data.

You can export historical data from NinjaTrader at Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Export-tab. More information can be found at the link below.

I both downloaded and exported the 15 years worth of daily OHLC but was unable to open either file on my computer?

what is the difference between a downloaded file and an exported file?

When you download historical data, it will download the historical data in NinjaTrader only. It does not produce a .txt file like exporting data does.

When happens if you open the .txt file you exported? Do you experience an error?

i exported again and it worked!

I requested a starting date of 2000 but it started at year 2005 ?.
          years 2005 & 2006 have data for 6 days per week ?
is that the way it should be ?

years 2007 thru 2015 have the desired data for 5 days per week.

I am able to load historical data up to the year 2000 when I test it on my end. Can you please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Edit-tab and check if you have data up to 2000 present. If not, please download it and then export it again.

I only see 5 days per week (see screenshot). How did you determine that there are 6 days of data per week?

I tried it again with the same results.
I have been connected to interactive brokers when downloading
could it be that I must have a different connection ?

                Hello joemiller,

                That may explain the issue.

Please restart NinjaTrader and connect only to Kinetick's free EOD feed then try downloading and exporting data again.

                    Hello,

In testing here I am able to access data as far back as 1993.

To confirm, you are using a daily chart, correct?

If that is correct please right click in the chart and select Data Series. What value is entered in the 'Days to Load' field on the right side of this menu?

yes, I am using a daily chart.

365 is in the 'Days to Load' field.

please explain why 2005 and at least half of 2006 have 6 days per week ???

                        Hello,

With these settings you would be downloading only the last year of data (365 days) from Kinetick. You will need to increase the number of Days to Load to span back to your desired date. For example, if you intend to download the last 20 years of data you would need to enter 7300 in this field.

Once you have downloaded the data from Kinetick please let me know if you are still seeing the gaps which you mentioned.

I entered 9999 in the days to load field. and export still went back to only 2005 ... until I connected to free kinetic eod ... then start year exported was 1993. so that problem is resolved..
