If the day range so far is 15 ticks, and it moves another 5, a counter of some sort indicating the day range is now 20.

You might check out the opening range indicators
just set the opening range to the day range you plan to track. Not a value, but lines/plots. You could always add a drawtext to put a value.

Please download SessionPivotsV43 here:
The anaCurrentDayOHLV43 is part of the package and displays
- the current day's open
- the current day's high
- the current day's low
- the current day's midline (optional)
- fib retracements calculated from the current day's high and low (optional)
- noise bands
- range targets based on average daily range
What you look for can be found in the upper right corner of the chart. The indicator plots
-> the current daily range in points
-> the average daily range over the last 10 days in points
-> the average daily range over the last 20 days in points
You can plot all lines and ranges for the full session (set indicator to ETH) or the regular session (set indicator to RTH, needs a specific session template).
The chart attached shows the developing range for the regular session of CL 06-15. The current day's RTH range is 1.09 points, which compares to an average daily of 1.49 points for the preceding 10 and 1.58 points for the preceding 20 days.

Hello WiseAmo,
Thank you for your post.
This indicator is publicly available on our NinjaTrader Ecosystem website:
https://ninjatraderecosystem.com/use...ionpivots-v43/
Here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:
Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.
To Import:- Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
- From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
- Select the downloaded .zip file
- NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'
Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:- Right-click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK
Here is a short video demonstration of the import process:
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
