Market Replay Connection List Empty??

    Market Replay Connection List Empty??

    What would cause my market replay connection not to list any dates?

    I have data in the right folder.

    When I turn on 'record data' it starts to record today's data.

    But - When I go to connect --> Market Replay Connection, no dates are listed there.

    Mm. Are your data in your folder in subfolders that are named with their corresponding datestamp?

      Yes, that is where ninjatrader puts the data when i start recording. But the data that NT records is not selectable from the pulldown.

      I tried to re-install ninja but no luck.

        I had the same problem. My fault was to put own files in this directory and this is not allowed. Maybe you did that too? After I deleted my own files, everything worked again.

          same problem here - I did a complete uninstall of NT and the whole ninja trader folder under my documents. Reinstalled, recorded some data and saw that a new folder was created under the db/data folder for that day but it doesn't show up under "market replay connection".

            Hi nigelr,

            Could it be the My Documents-->NinjaTrader 6.5 folder is located on a network drive?

            If you reboot your PC, does the Market Replay feature list the dates you recorded data?

            Did you put in any other files in the directory, as brima mentions?

              Hi Jason, its a local folder so no network issues. I did try copying in data but as that didn't work I removed it. Then tried a live connection to generate real data which shows up in the folder but doesn't show up under Market Replay Connection.

                brima - so if you're not supposed to directly copy data into that folder how would you import data that someone else recorded?

                    My problem was I had a txt-file in that directory and as soon as I deleted that file, it worked again.

                      The first time I copied in the folders there was a txt file and I removed that, that didn't help so I went through the whole uninstall process and tried again - still no luck.

                        I suggest following procedure: remove all the directories and files from ...db/data in another directory. Then bring back one file after the other and look what happens ...

                          Please delete 'install.xml' from the file directory MyDocuments/NinjaTrader6.5/Log.

                            thanks all, it works now! Turns out there wasn't a bad file in the db/data folder but there was a badly named folder. Once I removed that it started working
