NT won't open

Running v. 7.0.1027, NT will not open. The intro window comes up, disappears, and another window appears telling me "unable to connect to order server"(MBTrading). NT appears running under processes, but nothing comes up on the screen. Thanks.

Go into Your "My Documents\Ninjatrader 7" folder.

Find the file Config.xml

Open it, preferably in a quality editor like TextPad.. although notepad might work or look funny.


Search for the section starting:

 <ConnectOptionsCollection>

I would suspect some where below that, you have

        <ConnectOnStartup>true</ConnectOnStartup>

Change it to false:

        <ConnectOnStartup>false</ConnectOnStartup>

That should prevent the auto connection, and allow you into NinjaTrader, where you can at least try to fix your connection parameters or whatever issue you are having.

You might want to make a backup of your Config.xml before making changes.

*Also note, this is untested and I have no clue if it will work, but I suspect it might.

**EDIT - I tested it with my TD connection and I changed from false to true.

Thanks! This got me back in, there is some connection issue, I guess, as I just set NT to connect with MBT upon opening yesterday. I can connect manually, it's no problem. Thanks again.

Can't connect with MBT after all

It turns out I do have a connection problem, although after changing "connect on startup" to "false" NT opens now. I'm using NT v. 7.0.1027, MBT Desktop 11.9.0.51. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Since this is now a problem connecting with MBT I'll post in the connecting forum...
