    Unable to reload historical data

    Dear Sir or Madame.....
    I signed on to NT this morning and had no historical data, just the bars that were currently printing. I'm using the Rithmic data feed and it appears to be connected. When I select chart properties and try to reload the historical data that field is grayed out and I am not given the option to do so.

    Here is what I have tried.....

    1) I cleared the cash, minute, day and tick folders under the DB folder and that did not resole the situation.

    2) I tried to repair the DB (tools, options, data, repair DB) based on another thread I found. After restarting NT that too failed to resolve the issue.

    The other thing that may be unique is that I don't see "days to load" in the chart properties (I can't recall if this if it is normally found.

    What steps should I take next?

    Thank you for writing in.

    Are you seeing error messages in the Log tab of the Control Center?

    When the Reload All Historical Data is grayed out, this means you have lost connection to the historical data feed. This could be due to high latency, internet outage, or the server itself may have experienced a disruption.

    (Clearing cache, removing downloaded historical data, resetting the database etc, will not help with network issues)

    Typically, I would advise that you restart NinjaTrader so the connection to the historical data server is re-established, but it appears you may have already done this.

      I rebooted the computer to see if that would help and it did. I think I'm good now. Thanks!!!!!

        Hello.

        I have exactly the same issue. The "Reload All" button is grayed out, and in the log,
        "unable to connect to Ninjatrader data server" message appears.
        I've just restarted the Ninjatrader, and I'm getting the same message.
        Have you found out what's going on? Is it Rithmic?

          I had an error message in my log tab as Chelsea had suggested and it referenced a server issue and an IP address. I logged off everything and shut down the computer. Restarted and signed back into NT and that resolved the problem.

            Restarting the computer, not just the Ninjatrader, did the trick.
