    Order rejected: no market data available

    I am placing orders for multiple stocks using Tradestation to IB via the ATI. I am connected to IB and can see quotes, but frequently get a rejection on an order with the message: "Unable to submit order now: no market data available". The stock is in the instrument manager. If I bring up an order entry window with the stock in it, or have the stock in the Order entry tab Name field, I get quotes for it, and then an order will go through successfully. Once an order has been placed this way the stock does not have to be in the Name fieldfor an orderto be placed. Thisworks until logoff.

    You are not using the most recent NT version. Please upgrade. You must first uninstall the current version, then run the installer for the recent version. This will resolve this issue.

      Unfortunately, I am running 5.1.1000.1 according to the About screen. Just to make sure I uninstalled, rebooted, and re-installedthe latest version from the web site. Same result.

        Will investigate this further. For now, just ensure that you have market data running in an entry window.

          I trade over 100 stocks. Is there any way you can suggest that would keep that list open for quotes?

            No practical way. Will look at this tomorrow, should be a simple fix.

              Dwil,

              This message will pop up when you are trading against the simulation account, this will not happen live. The reason is that the simulator requires market data in order to drive simulation.

                    Delete your current IB connection and create a new one from scratch. That should take care of it.

                      Thank you. That seems to have solved both problems - the order rejections and the NTMarketPosition being incorrect.
