    Orders from strategies do not fire (sometimes)

    Hi there:

    This is so strange. I use a fully paid NT7, IB TWS and IQ datafeed. The IB account trades with real money (of course). I trade FDAX, 6E, 6S, ES and Forex. I also send the same signals to Collective2 with their sim accounts for testing purpose. With NT7 on, I always connect to IQ Datafeed first and IB TWS second. I use exclusively range charts for my strategies. Here is the issue - there are times when the strategy will not fire on IB account but will fire on the sim account with Collective2 or vice versa. There is not a fixed pattern that I can observe. About half of the time, both will fire (which is the way it is supposed to be) when I check the order page. I could not figure out why? Anybody has a clue on this one? Many thanks!!

    Is there anything in the log/trace folder files confirming order entry?

    Are there any rejections?

      No rejections. Rejected orders will show up in a window on a screen. There is none. There is no cancelled order either, as I checked the order page. I am thinking that it might be the datafeed, but since I connect to IQFeed first and IB TWS second, all the strategies should have IQFeed's data stream as input, am I correct?

          Thanks, Chelsea, it seems to be working now, from the log file, there were some connection issues with IB TWS, but somehow the strategies stayed 'green' and were not disabled. Since I daytrade anyway, I manually disable and enable each strategy every day and so far I haven't had any problems.
