    Custom Sessions

I have been having a lag problem.

I shut down all my custom session charts and it is doing much better.

Does a custom session (I split my TPO charts so that I can see the overnight and the pit session separately) cause lag?

    Hello ussdotsons,

    Thank you for your post.

Custom sessions like those which you describe should not have an impact on NinjaTrader's performance.

Does the session which you have moved to use less data overall when compared with the custom session template?

        Hello,

So that I can further assist would you please provide me with an image of the hours which your custom template uses and let me know which Session Template you selected which appears to perform more smoothly?

Seems to work better using 24/7 template

              Hello,

              Thank you for clarifying.

Since the Default 24/7 template would load additional data as compared to your other settings I am not sure why this template would perform better as it should be using more system resources as compared with the other configuration.

I am glad to hear that things are working well with the Default 24/7 template however if you encounter further issues please contact me by email at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In the message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of the current day's trace file.

Trace files are found in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. Trace files are named by date in a YYYYMMDD format. For example, today's trace file would be named 'trace.20150831.txt'.

                I have a laptop running win 10 64-bit, but I can't open ninja 64 with it.

I see where it is asking for a registered JIT debugger? What is that?

                  Hello,

So that I can look in to this please contact me by email at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In the message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of today's trace file.

The trace file is a diagnostic file which you will find in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. I would need a copy of the file which is named 'trace.20150831.txt'.

One last item. I have a huge db file with data back to 03-09. Can I get rid of any of this and what is safe to discard, etc.

                      Hello,

The database file is the 'NinjaTrader.sdf' file which you will find in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > DB folder however historical data is kept in the other folders. It is likely safe to delete any data which you would like provided that NinjaTrader is shut down.
