    NT7 - Support for later version of I.B. TWS

    Are there any plans for NinjaTrader 7 to support later versions of Interactive Brokers TWS from the previous support of Build 944.3 ?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

    Newer versions of Trader Workstation will be supported with the release of NinjaTrader 8 which is in beta right now.

          Hello Kyle,

          I see that NinjaTrader Version 7.0.1000.31 has been released - Can a later version of Interactive Brokers TWS be used with this version rather than the previously recommended Build 944.3 ?
          The reason I ask, is that earlier this week I had an issue with the TWS and phoned I.B. Technical Support for a solution.
          Because I was on an "out-dated" Build of 944.3, they would not offer me any technical support.
          They recommended that I update to Build 954.

            Hello Eric,

            At this time the 944.3 build of TWS remains our recommended build for NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.31. A newer build of the stand alone version of TWS (as well as the gateway) will be supported with NinjaTrader 8.

              The issue I have with 944.3 is that it says invalid username and password. When I try on a newer version I can login to TWS no problem and then connect my Ninja Trader. Any thought?

                Thanks for your note.

                I'd like to see your log and trace files. Please send me a note to platformsupport (at) ninjatrader (dot) com. Attach your most current log and trace files to the email, and put a link to this forum post in the body of the email. Please note "ATTN: Drew" in the body of the response.

                You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.

                The log file will be named "log.20160216.txt"

                You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

                The trace file will be named "trace.20160216.txt"

                  Hi Drew. This issue has been fixed. It was tricky. For this TWS the user must have a password no longer than 8 character. Might be good to add to the document.
