    IB CFD trading

I have Ninja connected to an Interactive Brokers account and want to trade CFD's (e.g. CAT, XLF, IBUS30).
Howver, I cannot find CFD's in the Ninja Instrument Manager.
How do I program automated trades with Interactive Brokers CFD's? What symbols to use in Ninja?

    Hello PaulZ,

    Thanks for writing in.

CFDs are not supported with Interactive Brokers.

I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider.

Interactive Brokers offers CFD trading. Do I understand you correctly that Ninja Trader does not offer connectivity to trade these IB CFD's?
Do I interpret the table from the link you sent me correctly that Ninja Trader Software does not offer CFD trading with ANY broker?
If so, what is the Software Roadmap for NT to allow CFD trading?

Thanks for your response. One more question on this:
How do I trade an index (e.g. ^DJIA in NT Instrument Manager) with its equivalent Interactive Brokers index (e.g. IBUS30?)?

            Hello PaulZ,

            Thanks for your reply.

NinjaTrader comes pre-loaded with the most commonly traded instruments however, you may find the need to add an additional instrument.

Please follow the instructions below to add an instrument in the Instrument Manager.

From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools> Instrument Manager
            Press the 'New' button
*Enter in instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange (add Default exchange for equities in addition to the actual exchange)
Fill in any relevant information under the 'Misc' tab such as symbol mapping for your target connectivity provider
            Press the 'OK' button

              Thank you NinjaTrader_Brandon.

I want to map the NT ^DJIA instrument to an IB instrument, but the "Master Instrument" field does not allow the ^ symbol. How can I resolve this?

Can I then also create an share instrument that I map to a CFD from Interactive Brokers?
That way, I will not get CFD data in NT, but I can use a strategy that imports share data and executes a CFD trade. Is that true?

                Hello PaulZ,

                Thanks for your reply.

I recommend creating a new instrument. I would not recommend changing default instruments to be different instruments.
The Master Symbol will not include the ^ symbol. This is used to indicate that an instrument is an Index just like you would use the $ symbol for forex. You do not put this in the Master Symbol.
No, it is not supported to use CFDs with Interactive Brokers in any way with NinjaTrader 7.

Does NT8 RC2 already support IB CFDs? Or is this more something to come sometimes in the future?

                          Hi Brandon,
this is only true for index CFDs, correct? The DJIA CFD is called IBUS30 at IB but named $US30 in NT, correct?
Again, please confirm if stock CFD are not supported by NT8.

                          Many thanks

Currently Stock and FX CFDs are not supported with Interactive Brokers. We are tracking this as a feature request (SFT-319). I'll add your vote.
