    backtesting Multi-Instrument strategies

I have a simple Multi-Instrument strat that incorporates an SMA of ^TRIN and ZN with a stop loss, it is all hard coded with no user defined inputs. Basically I am using the ^TRIN as a signaler to entry/exit of ZN.

In backtest mode in the Analyzer, when chosen, the dropdown box shows the strat name but the LABEL box and the Parameters boxes shows the name and parameters of the first of my compiled startegies. I have to manually type the strat name in the Label box and change the parameters boxes to 1, (the parameters default to 1 and will not allow a 0) even though no parameters should be in there at all.

My question is are the results I get from this backtest valid or is there some holdover parameters from the other strats working here? Has anybody run into this before? Is this a generic issue if one does not use NT indicators in there strat's?

Did you start from a "copy" of another Strategy? If so there may be leftover remnants like Description name from that copy that you did not change.

      Josh-

I used the Wizard to name, label and describe the strat. Unlocked the code and hard coded everything else. Is there another way to generate a new strat?

You could open any strategy and right click->save as and use a new name. After you compile it it will be a new strategy.
