You have custom Ninjascript files on your PC that have programming errors.

    Hello

I am currently receiving a message saying: "You have custom Ninjascript files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a Ninjascript Archive file."

I have recently installed Ninjatrader 7 in the last 5 days or so and I have also downloaded a custom script from the beginning of this thread: http://ninjatrader.com/support/forum...rtrend&page=25

The offending script is likely to be the supertrend indicator although I cannot find it. I have looked in here: C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin

Please can somebody tell me how to fix this issue?

    Many thanks

    Hello,

    Thanks for your note.

We can actually likely resolve these compile errors without having to remove the offending NinjaScript item.

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader always compiles all indicators and strategies - not just one. This is done to give you the highest runtime performance possible.

    1.Open NinjaTrader
    2. From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
    3. Select any indicator and double click on it (we need only to open and compile one script to see all compile errors for all files).
    4. A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
    5. At the bottom of the window a new section will appear where you can find the error locations.

From there you have the option to comment out offending code sections, remove the complete indicator or debug it to be able to compile again.

If you are unsure as to what the error is indicating, please send me a screenshot of the error with the name and description fields clearly readable.

To send a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.

See the following link for instructions:
Learn how to use Snipping Tool to capture a screenshot, or snip, of any object on your screen, and then annotate, save, or share the image.

Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

See the following link for detailed instructions:
How to take a screenshot on your smartphone, tablet, notebook or desktop computer

      Hello,

I am currently receiving the same message : "You have custom Ninjascript files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a Ninjascript Archive file." but I don´t have the Edit NinjaScript menu item in my platform (screenshot attached).

I have a NinjaTrader 7, Direct Edition license, Windows Home Premium 64 bits.

Please, how to fix this issue?

      Thanks.

        Hello,

        Thanks for your note.

This feature would not be available to Direct Edition license keys. I would recommend switching to the Simulated license key to resolve your compile errors, then switching back to your Direct Edition license key after you've finished. Please copy the license key provided below and paste it under the Control Center> Help> License Key

Please ensure you have restarted NinjaTrader for the changes to be applied.

just a note that for Nt8 you need to click on new (not tools) to find the script editor
