the profit target moves toward the bid/ask?

Chase if touched:

if the market moves to the target and backs off but the target order does not fill, NinjaTrader would then start adjusting the target order to chase the market up until the Chase Limit amount.

so if it was a sell Limit profit target, it would start moving "down" to chase the bid/offer once its price had been touched by offer?

does chase "limit" restrict both entry chase and profit target chase?

Hello jitterbug,

Thank you for writing in. Target Chase is the same as Chase if touched but only applies to your Profit Target orders where as Chase if touched applies to your entries. It would chase the current market price.

so if it was a sell Limit profit target, it would start moving "down" to chase the bid/offer once its price had been touched by offer?

If you had a sell limit as your profit target, your entry your be a buy entry and your profit target would be above your entry. So in this scenario, the market would touch your profit target, not fill and head the other direction and the profit target would chase it down, correct.

does chase "limit" restrict both entry chase and profit target chase?

Correct.
