    Historical Data Problems

    Hello:

    I have been unable to reload historical data for several days.

    I have contacted Ninja and TD Am., my service provider. They have given me suggestions, all of which have failed.

    Each party is saying that the other is responsible for this to get corrected.

    Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do to once again capture historical data to be able to research strategies?

    I have no problem receiving live data, I just cannot access any historical data.

    1. (For a chart) what interval is selected?
    2. What instrument have you selected?
    3. Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

      Thanks for reply.

      I am charting several different stocks, and am receiving no error messages.

      Regarding your interval question, I am switching back and forth between 1 minute and 45 second charts. I just checked and am able now to Reload Historical Data when I am viewing a 1 minute chart, but not when I am viewing a 45 second chart. I used to be able to reload on any time frame.

      Have I maybe changed something on a setting I am not aware of?

        Thanks for your reply.

        To load historical second data you would need to be connected to a data provide who offers historical tick data. This is not available with TD Ameritrade in NinjaTrader. Perhaps you previously were using another data provider also.

        I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider.

          Does NinjaTrader allow access to a data feed for its customers?

            Thanks for your reply.

            To have the option to reload historical data you would have to have had a connection to a data provider who offers historical tick data.
            What you may have had is the Save Chart Data As Historical checked under Tools> Options> Data> Real-time Data.
            This saves your historical tick data to your computer to view at later times.
