    Primary/Secondary connections issues

    Hello,

I have a problem with multiple connections. I'm connected to Continuum (Primary) as well as Kinetick and I want to download TICK chart. I created an instrument in an Instrument manager and tested it with only Kinetick connection. Everything worked great. Then I tried the same with a Continuum being a primary connection and Kinetick being a secondary connection. However this time Ninjatrader returned an error which states:
"Error on loading chart data for '^JTNZ.Z Default' NinjaTrader data server does not support this instrument, no data available"
    How can I fix it?

    Best regards

    Hello mikhailov_ruslan,

    Please reset the instruments

To reset your instruments please follow the steps below.

Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed.
    Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK.
Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection.

      Hello Christopher

Thank you for your reply. I did as you said but the error persists.
Maybe I'm doing the connections in a wrong way?
I connect my primary connection first (which is Continuum) and then I connect Kinetick just the same way, right? Do I need to make my secondary connection as a backup for the primary one?

      Best regards

        Hello mikhailov_ruslan,

Are you using the preloaded ^TICK or an instrument you created?

The message you are reporting is with the Kinetick symbol mapping for the TICK index

I use a new created instrument as was described here:

An instrument was created just like one depicted at the picture from the thread.

            Hello mikhailov_ruslan

Please use the preloaded TICK index as it is configured for Kinetick and Continuum

This index is listed under the symbol TICK in NinjaTrader

At the very begging I tried to use TICK but it didn't work in a real time. I could only download historical data up to the point but no real time data was available. I thought that I didn't have real-time data so I bought Kinetick and tried to create an instrument and use it. It worked but only without Continuum connection.
I tried to use TICK right now. It works with Kinetick but when I connect Continuum it stops working

                Hello mikhailov_ruslan,

Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

No, no errors in the Log. Can I somehow specify the source for data download for a particular instrument?

                    Hello mikhailov_ruslan,

When connecting to Kinetick and your broker, you have some options...

Connect to Kinetick first then to your broker. This setup will get all live and historical data from Kinetick, and still allow you to execute trades to your broker.

Or, connect to your broker first, then to Kinetick, with historical data disabled on your broker. This will allow you to get live data from your broker, and all historical data from Kinetick, and will also use Kinetick as a backup.

More on this topic at: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...onnections.htm

                      I've read that post. Thanks.
If I need Kinetick only for Market Metrics? I don't have historical data from Kinetick (except those).
And when I connect to Kinetick first - TICK works great, but all other instruments are not. When I connect to Continuum it is other way around.

                        Hello mikhailov_ruslan,

Please go to Tools > Account Connections, select your Continuum connection and click Change

Then in the connection wizard click Next > Next, uncheck the box 'Include index data' and click Next > Finish

                        This disconnect*from all connections

Connect to Continuum then connect to Kinetick
