Exit on Close

Hello,
Im trying to program simple daily strategy using wizard and would like position to close(exit) at the end of the day (period),right now its skipping couple weeks or days before it closes, Is it possible do to that using the wizard?

What is the bar type and interval that you are using to run this strategy?

Do you have Exit on close set to True in the strategy parameters?

Exit on close= true,
daily(works but doesn't close every day) or 1440 min(doesn't work at all)

Hello centurius,

If you add the strategy to a new chart (using the Sim101) historically we should see Exit on close trades. Are you seeing Exit on close trades in historical data?

(This just lets us know that everything is configured properly)

For Exit on close to work, the script has to be running and there has to be incoming data right at the end of the session. Sometimes at the end of the session the volume drops off completely and NinjaTrader is not able to send out the Exit on close order.

As long as you can confirm my first question, my recommendation would be to increase the Exit on close seconds to 120 and try again. (This would be two minutes before the close of the session and should early enough to exit the trade at session close)
