Data feed question from a likely live user in the very near future

    Hello,

I've been putting the demo through its paces and am likely to come on board this week (hopefully).

I do have a question about data feeds though. I have a strategy that utilizes both the ES and VX (CBOE VIX futures). I can backtest just fine using VX (currently using the VX 12-15 symbol), however, if I load a real time 1min chart with the VX symbol, it will show historical 1-minute bars up to the point I opened the chart, but it does not update the chart at all in real time going forward.

If I were to open a live account, would it still not update the 1 minute VX chart in real time? Would I not be able to use the Ninjatrader Continuum feed to trade live if I wanted to utilize the VX in my strategies?

Is my only recourse subscribing to Kinetick?

Looking at the CQG website, it shows that VX is a supported, tradable symbol. Is it somehow not offered as a real-time symbol as part of the Continuum feed? I don't need to trade the VX, but I do need a real-time 1 minute chart of it...

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

If VX 12-15 is selected in the Orders tab of the Control Center do you see updates in the bid, ask and last price fields or is 'n/a' shown here?

Right now (12:45am eastern time) it shows n/a...but that may be because it's 12:45am...lol

Just tried again and getting n/a

It's strange too because like I said, I can get historical data, and it's listed on the "Instrument Lookup" window...

So I guess my only alternative is Kinetick?

I followed your directions (twice), and it still is displaying n/a.
