Downloading Replay Data

I have recorded market data for some stocks for the purpose of replay
in the folder Ninjatrader/db/data/date there is a file for the stock i require in a .ntm file
When i go to utitilies/downloadreplaydata/ and select to stock/date

i get the following msg:
there is no L1 replay data for that date/security

can you advise why this may be occurring. i have followed the instructions as per the manual

The continuum futures demo connection doesn´t provide any stock market data. You can only get the futures live data and record it.

Thank you for writing in. The market replay servers are run by NinjaTrader and are separate from your account connection. We do not record information for all instruments as this is a free service. Additionally, data is removed from the servers after a certain period of time depending on the type. You can record your own data for market replay by navigating to Tools -> Options -> Data tab -> Check "Record for Market Replay" OK.

Could you please let me know what instrument, period, and date you are receiving this message for so I can verify is this is expected or not?

i had previously checked "Record for Market Replay" to facilitate this
the security was HCN 3/12

Market replay data is deleted from our servers after it is 366 days old so this would be expected. I apologize for the inconvenience.

the date was 3 December - it is only 4 days old and in the folder Ninjatrader/db/data/ the date and security is there

I apologize for the confusion I thought you were providing a contract date rather than the actual date you were requesting data for. This would still be expected however as we do not record market replay data for the HCN security.

can u not record individual stocks?
are any stocks available ?

which securities are available for immediate download (ie i do not have to record them myself)

Hello fiddy,

You can record market replay for individual stocks yourself. Once "Record for market replay" is enabled, data is recorded for any instrument in any NinjaTrader window that is receiving live market data. Level II (market depth) data is only recorded if a Level II, SuperDOM, or FX Pro window is open and receiving data for the instrument. The Market Analyzer window is the recommended recording window as multiple instruments can be added to one Market Analyzer window and all recorded at the same time.

I have just confirmed that unfortunately we do not record market replay data for any stocks currently. We do record data for many popular Futures and Forex pairs.

it seems you have not understood my previous msg's. that is what i have done.
i selected "Record for market replay"
i had an open chart with HCN so the data was recorded
there is a file in the file Ninjatrader/db/data/20151203/HCN.ntm

however when i try to download it now i get the following msg:
there is no L1 replay data for that date/security

I apologize for the confusion. You would not attempt to download data that you already have recorded yourself, because of course it is already downloaded to your computer via the "Record for market replay" option that you previously enabled.

Because you already recorded data for the HCN, you would simply connect to the market replay connection by going to File -> Connect -> Market Replay Connection. Then you would navigate the market replay control to the date you wish to view, open up an HCN chart, and press the play icon.
