    Lines move when rolling over

    Hi,

Every time I rollover a contract the lines I drew on the chart move (F2 line). This is not a huge deal when day trading but when swing trading this is a burden. How do I prevent this from happening?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your note.

This may be due to the offset being applied to data from the previous contract. Please go to Tools->Options->Merge policy->Set to "MergeNonBackAdjusted"->Click Ok.

Next right click within you chart and select "Reload All Historical Data" and let me know if your lines then display as originally displayed.

I have also provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over the different Merge Policies that are available.

        Chris,

I have tried your solution and indeed the lines I draw do not move when rolling over. HOWEVER, now the charts are not displaying the right daily data. The highs and lows are not the same, the price action is somewhat different. If compared say to daily charts at finviz.com, when set to "MergeNonBackAdjusted" the charts are wrong while when set to "MergeBackAdjusted" the charts are correct. Any suggestions?

        Thanks

Unfortunately there is not an option to adjust the drawing objects automatically when using the option to MergeBackAdjusted and the drawing objects would need to be move manually to compensate for the Offset that is applied.

So it's either moving lines or wrong data?

When using MergeNonBackAdjusted the data is not incorrect it just is not adjusting the data using the offset between contracts so it is showing the price that specific contract was trading at that time.
