data saved for offline use?

Hi, when I connect to my data provider for charting purposes, is that data not kept somewhere on my computer so that I can load a chart with that data while not connected, and/or so I can build historical data over time that I may not be able to access over time via connecting?

Who are you connected to? This is displayed by green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

(For a chart) what interval is selected?

I had a daily chart open from IB. When I accidentally closed the IB TWS program, I did not have data on the chart anymore.

Am new to NT, had been using Sierra Chart, which always put the historical data on my hard drive so that it wouldn't take so long to load next time or to look at offline.

How should I be recreating that in NT7?

This data should be saved to your computer.
Do you have an antivrus/firewall installed and if so which one? (example: Norton, AVG, Avast)
Do you have a backup or auto backup program that runs on your system?

I have Avast. No backup system in place.

Thanks for your reply.
I would recommend exiting NinjaTrader and adding NinjaTrader to Avasts exception list.
You will need to exclude the following directories
(My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7
