    FXCM Data Not loading Range or Tick Charts

    Hi all,

    I'm having an issue onan FXCM demo account where it refuses to load range or tick charts. Day and minute charts load fine but range and tick charts just sit saying "loading data". Any ideas?

    Hello ChiefDM,

    Can you please tell me how much historical data is requested in the chart.

    If you create a tick chart that requests 5 days of data, does the chart load the requested data?

    Please note that tick data will take a longer time to load compared to minute data. There is much more tick data than minute data in one day.

      Hi Jason,

      I requested 1 day of data in the chart as I figured at first it may be the amount of data that it was struggling to load, but even 1 day does the same thing.

        Can you please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Account Connections, highlight your FXCM connection and click Change. Click Next and check what setting is used for Historical Data. I suspect FXCM servers are enabled. If so, please change it to NinjaTrader servers. Click Next until you finish the connection. Disconnect/re-connect FXCM in NinjaTrader and check if you are able to create tick charts.

          OK, I've made the change and tried to open another chart, nothing yet, but I'm not sure how long it should take..... Dependant on connection I guess. I'll give it a bit and see what happens.

            Sounds good, please let me know the outcome.

            If FXCM servers are selected for historical data, it will take longer to load data and you will have access to less historical data .

                Can you please send me your log and trace files for today. Log and trace files can be found at the following locations. Please attach the files in your email and send it to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Att Jason, FXCM Data Not loading Range or Tick Charts' in the subject header.

                Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20160212 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)

                Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Trace--> trace.20160212 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)
