Rollover not working?

    Rollover not working?

    This is what I have tried to do in order to get my rollover contract:

    1. Instrument Manager -> updated Default Instrument List to include ES 06-16
    2. Chart -> selected ES 06-16 (and right click -> reloaded historical data)
    3. Tools -> Options -> Data -> DoNotMerge
    4. Restarted NT

    Yet my tick chart on ES 06-16 does not look correct compared to another trading platform. What else am I missing?

    Hello jtrading82,

    Could it be the other platform merges historical data from the 03-16 expiry in the ES 06-16 chart? If you test the other two merge policies, do you load the same data?

      Hi Jason - the other platform has many more bars on the tick chart, and also does not merge. Additionally, the highs/lows on NT chart look incorrect.

      Edit: added a screenshot, I hope I'm just missing some simple setting

        To what data feed/broker do you connect in NinjaTrader?

        When you connect to NinjaTrader Continuum/CQG in NinjaTrader, data uses MDP 3.0. Please see the forum thread below for more information (post #44).


        I suspect the other platform does not use MDP 3.0 yet which would clariy the difference.

          Hi John - I think that is unlikely and my issue is local:

          1. when I view 03-16, this issue does not occur

          2. I am using CQG. There is another trader using CQG on NT and there are 2x-3x as many bars on my chart that I referenced below. I understand individual ticks may vary, but this does not account for the difference

          3. My other trading platform matches the other trader's chart using CQG and NT, which implies it is not MDP related

          Have you brought up a chart on your platform and compared with my screenshot?

            Please send me your log and trace files for today so that I may look into what occurred.

            You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Platform Support.

              Hi - it looks like it is correct now using the 03-16 for 3/10, and using 06-16 for 3/11. I guess the rollover data didn't fully transfer over yesterday. Thanks!
