    Memory (RAM) or Processing Power?

My computer has 8GM ram but the optimizer I am running is taking several hours to complete.

I've tested running NT and the optimizer on a rackspace cloud server with positive results.

My question is, what matters more for speeding things up? Memory or processing power? I can do both on a cloud server, but to save on costs I would like to see if one matters more then the other.

As an example a machine with decent processing but heavy memory is cheaper than one with both heavy memory and processing.

Also, is there a limit to how much memory NT can use? I can go up to 128.

    Hello,
Processing clock speed is going to be more important than memory with using NinjaTrader in general and using the Optimizer. In regards to a memory limit the limit is set by .NET as NinjaTrader is a .NET application. If you are using a 32 bit OS the limit on a .NET process is 1.2GB, if you are using 64-bit the limit is 2.4GB.
It would also be recommend to ensure you are following the practices listed in our peformance tips section of our help guide: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...ance_tips2.htm

If we can be of any other assistance please let us know.
