    CQG Data Gaps for unique minute charts

    Encountered an odd problem with gaps in data. Am using NT 7.0.1000.31 w/ CQG feed on Win 8. I was reviewing the last 4 week's price action, and noted that for GC, on 3/8/16 and 3/10/16 the data between 00:00 and 17:00 was absent (see attached pix).

    I then: 1) reloaded the historical data, 2) did a DB Repair, 3) created a new workspace and brought up a new chart with the 15 min chart that was missing the data. No improvement.

    Here's where it really gets interesting, though. On a whim, I changed the data settings from a 15 min to 14 min, and voila... all of the data was displayed.

    I'm attaching the most current log file for your viewing pleasure as well.

    Please advise - this is very unexpected.

    Hello ohtrader,

    Thank you for your post,

    To test, please reset your instruments, this will ensure that the internal setting for the instruments are up-to-date with server specifications: Disconnect and go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

    You will need to close NinjaTrader. While closed, please use the steps below to clear your data cache so NinjaTrader will load new data into the charts when you connect again.

    Navigate to the following directory:

    * My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Db

    Delete the contents of the cache, tick, minute and day folders. Restart NinjaTrader and connect to your data feed.

    Let us know if this persists after taking these steps.

      Eric: Thanks, that did the trick. I still have a lingering question that, if you could answer, I would really appreciate. Why would a 14-min chart display the data, but not a 15-min. That was just the oddest part of this problem. Please advise.

        ohtrader,

        Glad to hear that resolved the issue! It may have been this was caused by corrupt historical data that was cleared with the steps you took.
