Imported historical data not being shown in backtest

Hi, I have imported historical data from 2014 - file name DAX.Last.txt. The data shows in the Historical Data Manager. When I run a strategy for backtesting, default or custom, I do not see any results and should be seeing something. Same if I try to produce a chart. I am relatively new to Ninja Trader. It seems the data is not being picked up? Thank you in advance.

    Hello deanm30,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader Support Forum!

So I may investigate this matter further please answer the following questions.
    • What interval is selected for your backtest? (Example: Tick, Minute, Day, etc.)
    • Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?
    • Do you see results when running the same test on the SampleMaCrossOver strategy in NinjaTrader with the same settings as your strategy?
    • Are you connected to your data feed provider when running this test?

I look forward to your response.

Thank you for your reply Patrick.
      Interval is set for minute.
No errors on screen or in the log tab with regards to the backtest.
No results when running the same test on the SampleMaCrossOver.
For datafeed provider have tried with all. I do not have a live feed account but I do have historical minute data that has been imported.

      Look forward to your assistance.

        Hello deanm30,

        Thank you for your response.

Can you attach a screenshot of the settings used on the Strategy Analyzer to test?

            Hello deanm30,

            Thank you for your response.

The data is added for DAX as a stock, where as you are using ^DAX which denotes an index. You should be able to find the DAX symbol that was added with the data under Tools > Instrument Manager. You can then add it to your Instrument List.

You should be able to test the data under the stock DAX rather than ^DAX.

              Thank you Patrick.

Making the change did the trick.
