    Market replay timer running but chart not plotting

    I'm trying to get market replay to work. The replay control box shows the clock running but the chart does not move. I have at least six months of recorded data that I have collected from daily use. I'm only running one chart in the workspace that I have set aside for replay but I have closed workspaces with a lot of charts in them. Would that be the problem?

    Is this a LIVE key? Or @SIM key? If @SIM use 24x7 template?


    Does the data exist in:

    C:\Users\username\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\replay\WHATEVER_DATE\WHATEVER_INSTRUMENT.suff ix ?

      Thanks for the reply Sledge, I'm using a live key, I went to check to see if I have any data and I can't find any Username folder in the C:Users folder or anything related to NInjatrader 7 which I am using. I know I should have data because I have been recording it daily. If you have any other thoughts let me know.

        I have found something under C: Users/Admin2/My Documents/Ninjatrader 7/db/data but no replay folder.

          My bad, I think I was confusing NT8 without checking.

          I guess you would have checked "data" and "tick" folders for the data by now?

          It's one of the 2...

            Yes, I check and have data and tick folders with data that goes back over a year. So it's not lack of data.
            Maybe it needs to be placed in a replay folder? I don't know.

              Have you used Market Replay before? Is this a new issue?

                I tried a few times a year ago, but I could only get it to work once and even then it froze after 15 min. I tried reducing the number of charts even down to 1 and reducing the number of indicators even to the point of none and still no luck. I have a Core i7 and 16 gb of ram so I don't think it's because of weak computer.

                  I could run replay in NT7 on 2006/8 hardware....

                  Hopefully NT support has some ideas..

                  You have verified your templates are 24x7?

                    Just checked the session template and it is 24/7 and still no luck. But I do use custom templates in other workspaces that I'm not using for replay so I'm wondering if that's an issue.

                      Sorry man, I'm out of ideas... hopefully NT can figure this out for you.

                      You might need to let them log in remotely to solve the issue.

                          Please manually attach your log and trace files to an email response to platformsupport [AT] ninjatrader [DOT] com, so I may investigate this matter further. Do not attach your log and trace files to a forum post.

                          You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.

                          The log file will be named "log.20160422.txt"

                          You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.

                          The trace file will be named "trace.20160422.txt"

                          Please ensure to reference a link to this thread and my name in the body of the email.
