    IB Market Data

    Hi NinjaTeam,

    I have an IB account. I connect to IB where I have the real time market data for FDAX and stocks of the DAX. But I cant get any information of the stocks. Are there special abbreviation for IBIS Dax stocks? I take the abbreviation which are used in IB like "BMW", but i get the message:
    "error on loading chart data for ´BMW Default´: IB-Connection: Error in requesting historical data from IB: No security has been found for the request(200)".

    Does this mean the market data of IB has no historical data?

    Thank you for any help!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your note.

    First can you please go to Tools->Instrument Manager->Select BMW->Delete then restart NinjaTrader.

    Next please add BMW using the steps provided below:
    • Tools->Instrument Manager
    • Click New
    • Input the information as shown in the attached screen shots for both the Definitions and Misc tab
    • Click Ok
    • Add BMW to your Default list
    • Open a new BMW chart

    Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

      Thank you. I added the stock to the default list, but when I open a chart I get the message:
      "Error on loading chart data for ´BMW Default´: Historical Market Data error message: No market data Permissions for BATEDE, CHIXDE, EBS, FWB, IBIS, SWB, TGATE, TRQXDE STK.
      But I have the market data permission for xetra:

      Do you have an idea, why its not working?

          If Interactive brokers market data doesnt work, are there alternatives directly from ninjatrader for real time market data?

            Can you remove BMW from your default instrument list then add it back in with the Exchange set to Xetra and let me know if you receive the same error when opening a chart.

            If you do can you tell me if you receive live data in the Orders tab when this instrument is selected and if you receive live data in TWS when selecting this instrument.

              Thank you!

              It was the "Xetra" under "Exchange" . I choosed Xetra in the list before, but it seems I had to click both times xetra!

              Thank you again!

                You're welcome and to confirm is everything now working as expected?

                  Sadly, I got a problem.

                  I can start a new chart for "BMW" for example. Everything works. Even market data up to 10 years are available for all DAX stocks. But when I try to use that data in an indicator, I get the same error as before:

                  Add("BMW", PeriodType.Minute, 5);

                  Does "Add" need more data than supported?

                    To clarify you receive this error when applying an indicator to the chart widow? If so can you tell me what indicator you are applying.

                      I add my own indicator to the chart of the FDAX. I just add one thing to my indicator script (to find the mistake):

                      protected override void Initialize()
                      {
                      Add("BMW", PeriodType.Minute, 5);
                      }

                      When I use this script i get:

                      But I can open the BMW chart and there is no error!

                      Or do I have to write "BMW Xetra?

                        I have spoke with a member of our NinjaScript department and unfortunately NinjaTrader will not match the string as instrument and exchange.

                        I have submitted this suggestion to our development team and will follow up as soon as a tracking number has been assigned.

                          Until it is possible to add those stocks. Is there another possibility to do so? Maybe another market data source? Does ninjatrader support real time market data incl. history?

                            Unfortunately I am not aware of another supported provider that offers data for this instrument within NinjaTrader at this time.

                              Are there any news? There must be a possibility to add stocks in some way? Does it works with other stocks from other indices?
