re-centre chart following change of timeframe/instrument

Hi, each time I change time frame etc I'm spending too long re-centring the chart and making it viewable. Is there a way of doing this automatically so that the chart expands to the date/time range in view? Thanks.

    Hello cognis0,

I assume the chart uses fixed scaling. Do you see the letter F in the upper right corner of the chart? If so, please click it and the chart will change to automatic scaling. This means the chart will scale the highest high and lowest low in the visible display.

Hi Jason ~ thanks for very quick reply!!
No, that doesn't work ~ it just scrunches everything up at the top of the chart

Ok, but the chart did use a fixed scale initially, correct? If you use a fixed scale, the Y-axis will remain the same - it does not adjust the highest high and lowest low.

Can you please post a screenshot of your chart after changing to an automatic scale.

            Thank you for the screenshots.

The profit target order extends the Y-axis and causes price bars to vertically compress. Can you please right click in ChartTrader and select 'ChartTrader Properties'. Set 'Auto scale' to False and click OK.

If the issue remains, then likely an indicator still extends the Y-axis. Please set 'Auto scale' to False for that indicator in the Indicator menu and it should not extend the Y-axis that much anymore.
