Charts not generating from imported data. (both 7 and 8beta versions)

What am I missing?

I have successfully imported (I think) data that is correctly listed in the historical data manager, but I cannot chart in either ninja 7 or 8 beta versions. Plotting gives a blank screen (see pic).

Here's some snap shots of the imported data and chart settings. Please let me know my error. thx

It looks like the end date of the chart is 7/9/2016.

You are only requesting 5 days to load. So it would start at 7/4/2016.

The data you have loaded is on 7/1/2016.

Try changing the end date, or request more days to load to include 7/1

Your correct, those settings needed to be updated..

However, the data still did not plot correctly until I changed the file name .. Plotted correctly, if I labeled the file , ES 09-16.last.text

Seems the issue is the underlying instrument definition. I found a work around, but would really like to understand this better.. thx.

Can you please clarify if you changed the file name within the NinjaTrader 8 or NinjaTrader 7 file to ES 09-16.last.text?

No.. actually, I just changed the filename of the data outside of the program.

If I import BITFINEX.Last.txt , doesn't work.

If I import ES 09-16.Last.txt , works.

Data is the same except for filename.

I'll attach the truncated files herein.. thx.

Can you please clarify if you have the BITFINEX instrument within NinjaTrader? I see within your original screen shot you have the historical data but after some research I have found this is not a native instrument to NinjaTrader 8.
To find out if you have this instrument you may go to Tools > Instruments > and search for BITFINEX.

No, BITFINEX was not pre-defined. I defined a new instrument identity.

Essentially, I just want to generate a dummy instrument to start working strategies with the back testing options. thx.

Can you please send me a screen shot of the Symbol Mapping you have for the BITFINEX instrument?
