PnL reported in USD when instrument in Yen.

I am using NT 7 to connect to the OSE exchange for the JNM instrument.
I am using the default instrument definition for JNM, which has the Currency set to Yen.

I did a sim trade using 3 contracts which took a 9 tick loss. The instrument is supposed to be ~$5 per tick, therefore I expected to see a 27 tick loss or $135.
However, the Performance report showed the PnL in USD and was over $10,000.

This is not the behavior I see when I do the same for the FDAX.
Is it possible that a currency conversion step is missing in the PnL calculation for Yen based instrument?

    Thanks,
    Gary

      Hello Gary,
      Thanks for your patience.
What is occurring is NinjaTrader is displaying the PnL in Yen, although it has a Dollar symbol.
I created some fake executions to give me a 9 tick loss. This resulted in 13,500 in losses in NinjaTrader.
13,500 Yen to USD is $126.39
      This matches your expectations.

Needs to be translated like FDAX

When I have a trade in the FDAX (which is defined with Euro currency), the trade PnL is calculated in Euro and translated to USD.

The JNM should have been translated to USD the same way since it is showing with USD symbol.

          Hello Gary,
          Thanks for your reply.
I tested a sim order to the FDAX and it is displaying in Euros.
It is expected in NinjaTrader 7 that it will display in the currency of the instrument.
In NinjaTrader 8 it will show in USD. I have tested and verified this.

            Brandon,

It seems you are overlooking that the number is displayed with a USD currency symbol ($) but the number is in Yen.

The symbol for yen is ( ¥ )

              Hello Gary,
              Thanks for your reply.
I understand that. No change is expected in NinjaTrader 7. NinjaTrader 8 will properly display the USD value and will show the $ sign.

                Nt 8 b12

                Brandon,

I am glad that NT 8 will be fixed. Beta 13 ?
I have this sneaky suspicion that we are still not on the same page, so I have attached an NT 8 screen shot showing that it is currently in error.

It shows the USD currency sign ( $ ) for numbers that are obviously calculated in yen.

                  Hello Gary,
                  Thanks for your reply.
See the attached image where you can see it properly showing USD on my end.
Do you have another system you can do a clean install of NinjaTrader 8 to test?
