TRIN, TICK charts not updating in real time

    TRIN, TICK charts not updating in real time

    I have added the TRIN and TICK chart using an Esignal connection. When I first open the chart it fills in the data up to that point but does not update after that. I can open a new chart and again I get up to that time's updates but no new information. My other Futures charts work fine.

    Hi Belinda,

    The Tick is not supported yet for the charts, it will be in V6 which we will release later this year.

    The TRIN is already in the Instrument Manager. Select Index and then enter TRIN. Then add the TRIN to your personal instrument list by moving it to the left side with the '<' button.

      Hi Vince,

      I did use the TRIN in the list and created the TICK. So that explains why my TICK isn't working but why isn't my TRIN working? Why do you have to add them - I thought that was what the New Button was for?

        Belinda,

        The TRIN is already in the Instrument list. All you need to do is add it to your personal list.

          I did add it to my personal list from the Instrument list - I did not create it. But it still isn't updating real time. Is there a way to download the Instrument list from your site?

            My information was incomplete.

            Although you can bring up the TRIN, we have discovered a bug that will be fixed in the next release.

              Free " End of Day Data

              Trying to use the free " End of Day Data " other than day bars............when I try and load example TF 09-11 Charts all I can see is day bars, is there any way to see tick bars or Min bar's as end of day data using Kinetick ?

                When connecting to Kinetick Free EOD within NinjaTrader this will give you access to End of Day Daily data which may be used to create Day, Week, Month and Year charts.

                If you are looking for a data provider for real time data as well hisotircal Tick and Minute data I recommend using Kinetick: (Our Preferred Data Feed Service Built Specifically for NinjaTrader 7). With a subscription to Kinetick you will then receive real time data and at least 120 days of historical tick data, two years of minute data, and ten years of daily data, much more for popular instruments.

                  I am having the exact problem Brightstar describes in his 5-22-2006 post except I use CQG data (andNT7). Any ideas are appreciated.

                    Please confirm you have your CQG connection enabled for Index data with the steps provided below:
                    • Disconnect
                    • Tools
                    • Account Connections
                    • Select your CQG connection
                    • Change
                    • Next
                    • Next
                    • Enable "Include index data"
                    • Next
                    • Finish
                    • Reconnect

                    Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

                      I am having this problem as well. I am using CQG and just added the ^TICK chart in the instrument manager and opened a new chart. It worked fine for 15 min and then stopped! Now it will only reload data if I manually reload historical data, then it will update the data. What do I do?

                        • Disconnect
                        • Tools
                        • Account Connections
                        • Select your connection
                        • Change
                        • Next
                        • Next
                        • Check "Include index data"
                        • Next
                        • Finish
                        • Reconnect
                        If the issue persists reset your instruments with the steps I have provided below:
                        • Disconnect
                        • Tools
                        • Options
                        • Data tab
                        • Reset Instruments
                        • Restart NinjaTrader
                        • Remove ^TICK from your Default instrument list and add it back in
                        • Reconnect

                          Has anyone resolved this issue yet?
                          Im having the same problem (tick not updating in realtime with CQG)

                          I have taken all of the steps advised above.

                            If you do not have real time data for Indexes after using the previous steps I suggest contacting your broker to verify your account is authorized for Index data.
